Spectrum Plastics Group (formerly Midwest Plastic Components) headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, purchased its second rapid prototyping company, Protogenic. Located in Westminster, CO, Protogenic, has been in the rapid prototyping industry for 18 years. The facility specializes in high quality Stereolithography models and RTV molded cast urethanes, direct-print Shore A and Shore D Eden PolyJet parts, as well as direct manufactured nylon using laser sintering.

New name for Midwest Plastic Components

As of June 1, 2008, Spectrum Plastics Group will be the new name of Midwest Plastic Components (MPC) headquartered in Minneapolis, MN. The former MPC purchased Peerless Injection Molding, Spectrum Plastics, and Dynacept in the last six months. The injection molding manufacturing companies and prototyping company are located in Southern California, Connecticut, and New York, respectively.
